Ira Levinson- Ira Levinson is a 91 year old man living alone after his wife died 9 years earlier. He was born in 1920, the year alcohol was outlawed and women were given the right to vote. Ira was a southerner and Jew and proud to be both. He was a well-rounded man: intelligent, smart, honest, and respectful. He married Ruth Pfeffer, who like him was a Jew and was born in Vienna. At a young age her family came to the U.S and her mother became close friends with Ira's mother. Ira and his wife collected a lot of art throughout their life and after Ruth died, Ira never got rid of it. He filled his walls with the paintings so he would always have a piece of his wife with him. Ira is alone and lonely when his car rolls of the road and down an embankment. He starts visioning his beloved wife and reliving the memories of their marriage. Ira is a man who has strong courage and faith which allows him to leave an impact on so many people.
