Nicholas Sparks
Nicholas Sparks was born on December 31st, 1956, in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1988. As a freshman, he was part of a relay team that broke a Notre Dame record in 1985 ( a record which still stands today). However he spent most of the summer recovering from an injury. During that summer, he wrote his first novel, but it was never published. Nicholas married his wife Catherine, whom he met on spring break in 1988, in July, 1989. While living in Sacramento, he wrote his second book, but again, this was never published. In 1994, at the age of 28, he wrote The Note Book. In October, 1995, rights to The Note Book were sold to Warner Books and the book was published in October, 1996. Nicholas Sparks's best sellers include Message in a Bottle, A Walk to Remember, The Rescue, A Bend in the Road, Nights in Rodanthe, The Guardian, The Wedding, True Believer, Three Weeks with my Brother, At First Sight, The Lucky One, The Best of Me, The Last Song, Dear John, and Safe Haven.
